House Rules and Terms of Service

Welcome to HotPop.biz (we call ourselves "HotPop"). HotPop is devoted to helping you have the most fun possible during your visit which is why we have posted on this page a few mandatory rules (we call them "House Rules"). Please take a moment to review our House Rules because by visiting this site you are agreeing to abide by them. If the House Rules don’t work for you and you don’t want to abide by them, please leave and don’t visit our site anymore. If you continue to visit our site, your consent is implied.

1. Registration and Terms
When you fill out our member registration, you are agreeing to follow all our House Rules (it’s not like you have to remember them all--you can check back on this page whenever you want and they’ll be here for your reading pleasure). House Rules might change from time to time, and we will let you know if they do through an e-mail announcement. If you continue to visit HotPop after such a change, understand that your continued visits signify that you agree to abide by the new House Rules.

Also, if you go shopping or use other services through our partners or links, be aware that you are subject to their terms and conditions, so make sure you check them out.

2. Age Participation
If you are under the age of 13, HotPop must have your parents approval before you can become a member and participate in chats, focus groups, sweepstakes, promotions, contests or other things that require you to submit personal information on the HotPop.biz website. HotPop has implemented all kinds of processes and procedures so that we can proudly call ourselves COPPA compliant. COPPA is legislation that makes it illegal for us to collect information or communicate with kids under the age of 13 without their parent or guardian’s written consent. So if you are under 13, Click here and give us your parent or guardian’s home postal address and electronic mail (e-mail) address (if they have one). For more information about COPPA and the way we handle personal information check out our privacy policy. Once we’ve gotten your parents consent and you have been approved to become a member, HotPop will not require our under 13 members to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary for participation in any activity.

3. HotPop Party Etiquette in our chat rooms and message boards
HotPop party etiquette is our way of making sure that you don’t get bummed out because someone doesn’t respect your privacy or doesn’t give you the respect you deserve. We want all of our members to treat each other with common courtesy so that the HotPop environment is fun to be in. Our chat rooms are meant to be friendly places, so if your conduct is rude and/or offensive, you will be asked to leave or escorted off the site by our HotPop’s party bouncers (monitors) and your account could be permanently terminated. Rude and/or offensive behavior includes such things as use of profanity or racial slurs, or by being sexually explicit. You will be able to find a full list of Community Guidelines at link to Guideline page, but the following are the basics:

a.) Personal Information: When registering to become a HotPop member, you promise to provide accurate and complete information about yourself. Accurate records are tremendously important in our effort to protect your privacy and comply with the law. It is also really important because it allows HotPop to maintain the site’s freshness by offering services and information that interest you.

b.) Password Protection: We have lots of good stuff that will be saved on our site for your sole viewing pleasure (such as your Sweet 16 party planning, your party photos, your address book and lots more). You will choose a password so that you can access this information. It is your responsibility to keep your password private and you are fully responsible for all activities that occur on your account. So, you shouldn’t share your password with others. And please contact HotPop quickly if you think someone might be using your password without permission. Click here to contact us.

c.) Illegal Activities: Remember the difference between right and wrong when you are visiting HotPop. HotPop is not a place for abusive or threatening behavior, promotion of illegal activity, or invading the privacy of other members. We are here to have a great time but only within the confines of the law. Don’t hang out on our site for illegal purposes such as transmission of material that is unlawful, harassing, libelous (untrue or damaging to others) and don’t infringe the copyright or intellectual property of others either.

d.) HotPop’s Cool Content: Some of what you see on our web pages has been created by either HotPop employees or HotPop members (see below). By communicating your ingenious thoughts on the HotPop site, you are telling us it is OK to repeat what you say, put it in one of our advertisements or use it in the marketing of the HotPop site, etc. By sharing your greatness with the HotPop community you are granting us a license to use your comments in any way we want, anywhere and forever (immortality is yours!). But please don’t post materials that have been trademarked or copyrighted by anyone other than yourself as by communicating them on the site you are representing that you have the right to do it, regardless of everything we just said in this paragraph, we will not do anything that conflicts in any way, shape or form with our privacy policy.
